Over the past 17 years, I have been privileged to serve the Retirement Plan Advisory Group while developing professionally alongside that incredible organization. I could write volumes about my experiences and the amazing folks I've worked with, but for now, I'll just say that I'm sending a deep bow to all of my friends at RPAG.Today, I am thrilled to announce a new chapter in my career: I am honored to join the NFP Executive Benefits family as Vice President, Business Development.I am SO stoked! The opportunity to join NFP, an Aon company, at this intersection of these two focused and growing firms is thrilling. The chance to BUILD distribution is exceptionally inspiring! -The PEOPLE at NFP Executive Benefits are extraordinary. I've known many of them for years and am looking forward to being part of this team. -I love that I am going to bring an entirely NEW SUITE OF SOLUTIONS to the same wonderful clients and dear friends I've served over the past 2+ decades. -The prospect of learning a new business line has all my synapses crackling! I am a student by nature, and this is a life-changing venture that I am ready to tackle.I’m eager to dive into new channels of growth and make the most of our collaboration with Aon. With the dynamic and energetic leadership of Tony Greene, I’m confident we’re ready to embrace new possibilities and strengthen our position in the industry.Get ready LinkedIn Family, you’ll be hearing from me soon!

This is an EXCELLENT piece from Rebecca Hourihan AIF® PPC™ in a recent National Association of Plan Advisors Net Daily! Whether you're an OG business owner/practice leader, just moving into a role like that, or somewhere in-between, there are a lot of great new ideas (or reminders) of things that are critical to the success of your efforts, along with WHY the areas deserve your time and attention!

I LOVE this Brian Brashaw, CPFA, CRPS, CRPC, CFEd!!! Inspiring words!!! "Don’t ever let anyone tell you you’re not qualified. If you have capacity to learn and to serve, you won’t fail. And as long as you have purpose, be it family, your team, your industry, youre not allowed to fail."That reminds me of a conversation I had 2 days ago with my 17-yr-old son, JR (whom many of you know, or know of). Like his old man 30-something years before him, he has spent some serious time on a short plank of wood, 3" off the ground, mounted to 4 wheels with a friction coefficient as close to zero as possible, searching for (and finding) his limits of riding and bombing hills. And has some good stories and scars to show for it <wiping proud tear from my eye>.He observed, "Dad, of all the sports, I think skateboarding is the most serious and intense." "OK, tell me why." "Well, because as you're into a hill, at some point, you are IN for the ride. You're going too fast to bail, you don't have any brakes, you're NOT going to slow down, and the only options are awesome success or painful failure. You have to be 100% focused on succeeding and if you think about anything else, you're toast."We are NOT ALLOWED to fail!!! Be encouraged, focus on what it's going to feel like when you get to the end and have OWNED that hill and go get 'em!

Ready to swell your brain and increase your ability to explain several fiduciary best practices in plain English? If you or any of your plan clients could use a FANTASTIC primer discussion on the Scorecard System, what it is designed to accomplish, the thinking, reasoning and purpose behind how it was designed, and how Investment Committees can use it with a well-crafted Investment Policy Statement to select, monitor and maintain appropriate lineups that serve participants well and meet the stringent fiduciary guidelines required under ERISA, then THIS episode of, “Be More Than a Fiduciary” is for YOU! Host (and fiduciary expert in his own right) Eric Dyson, ERISA Advisor Search, Keynote Speaker chatted with the insightful and dynamic Joel Shapiro about best practices of how these powerful resources can be used to plainly demonstrate to anyone scrutinizing the process that a plan fiduciary is undertaking, the past, present and future of the direction and management of the plan.

PUMPED to be with my MassMutual friends at the Wealth Management 401(k) Advisor Symposium! Here are amazing partners David Curylo, AIF®, CPFA® and Shawn W. Daly opening the event this morning. Jonathan Coombs and I had a great time discussing ways to scale a practice, increase operational efficiency and widen margins with nearly 100 MMLIS Financial Professionals...what a fantastic crew, experiencing significant MOMENTUM through COLLABORATION! RPAG loves our partnership with this dynamic, GROWING group!

#LessonsFromADog. Perspective is powerful! I saw a pile of dang weeds. My wing-man and head of security saw a soft place to take a load off and contemplate life's mysteries for a bit. Any weeds in your life that might represent opportunities, if only you consider them in the right way?
